A windy Saturday afternoon saw the Hunters away to Cambridge South for the last game of the season. Full of high spirits, the team took advantage of a photo opportunity wearing their new pink hoodies from @motivegraphics
Cora Davies volunteered to be our GK for the day and proved to be vital in keeping Cambs South from scoring. Two minutes in saw Liz Gray open up the scoring - a little touch in from the post. Cambs South came back fighting but were denied any hope of making the score even.
Twenty minutes later saw Mary Richardson hit home with a great reverse shot into the back of the goal, followed by a 2nd goal in the last seconds of the first half. 3-0 to the Hunters at half time. They were awarded several short corners in succession but the Hunters defence were having none of it and further denied Cambs South any hope of a comeback.
As always, the half time team talk had to be tactical as we did not want to loose any advantage to let Cambs South back into the game.
Second half started well and Hunters were on the prowl for a 4th goal and were nearly awarded one but was disallowed as it came of Zoe Skinners foot before entering the goal! Final score 3-0 to HNHC, what a fantastic game to end the season on. PoM goes to Cora Davies for keeping Cambs South at bay! Well played ladies :)
