On a grey Saturday morning, Hunters brought the colour to St Ives in our pink mermaide-esque away kit!
The teams were evenly matched and Hunters played well in the first half keeping possession and making some good runs down the wings making it difficult for the St Ives team to get close to the goal and on the odd occasion that they broke through Lois kept her cool and cleared the ball with confidence.
Hunters had one short corner awarded and Catherine stepped up ready to smash home the ball but unfortunately we were unable to get passed the St Ives defence.
It was all positives at the half time team talk and after some jelly babies and squashies Hunters were back on the field ready to go for the win.
Despite keeping the pressure on in the second half and moving the ball well across the field to get in the D, we are still left waiting for our first goal of the season.
St Ives managed to get past our defence and get the ball across the line but only after the whistle was blown for a short corner and our defence had stopped fighting for the ball. Hunters cleared the short corner confidently and the game finished as a 0-0 draw.
The team have shown great growth so far this season, the team is gelling well and the drills we are doing in training are being demonstrated on the pitch.
Player of the match today was Ali S who chased every ball and made some great runs up the field getting the ball in a great position to attack the St Ives defence.
